At 08:30, 3 Guys catch a lift to San Diego Harley to pick up there bikes for the day, Fat Bob, Vrod Muscle and Night Rod, It took an age to fill the paperwork and finally we hit the road at 10:15. Head South a bit and then pick up the road West to Julian! when in front of us appears the border!
No problem just turn left and we can pick up the road to join the original track! Unfortunately the road ended at a prison forcing a U turn back to the highway, looked in my mirrors and the 2 headlights that should have been there weren’t! The NightRod got a flat, pulled into a car park, an irate rider on the phone, “Follow the highway south all the way to the border, turn left towards the prison and the bike is in the vehicle auction car park, the auction starts at 12:00 so you should get here fast” 2 hours later and a quick change of bikes and we on our way, eventually finding Julian and some great roads, the 250 mile loop was shortened to cope with the lost time.
We made it back to the shop just after they closed, we dumped the bikes and walked around the corner to a hotel bar to get a cab, 32 hours later we fell into the cab and slept the drive home! Now that day we will remember for ever.
